We will be straight with you: this page is not much of a filter. Every club we have checked and priced works out at under twenty dollars a month, so "under $20" is the whole directory rather than a shortlist. We have built the page because it is a real thing people search for, and because seeing the full range in one price-sorted list is genuinely useful — but do not mistake it for a curated selection.

What twenty dollars buys at the top of the range

The clubs at the upper end of this band are generally doing one of two things. Either they are sending more — a CD, a booklet, a craft, several components rather than one — or they are making something that takes real time to produce, which usually means original writing or original artwork rather than licensed material. Neither is inherently better value. It depends entirely on whether the child will use what arrives.

How the price is calculated

Clubs bill at different rhythms and two of them bill in pounds. The sort here uses a normalised monthly figure in US dollars; the club's own price is shown next to it. A club billing yearly will want the whole year up front even though it appears low on this list, which matters more for a gift than for yourself.

It varies by club and we note it where the club states it. On the cheaper clubs postage is a meaningful share of the cost, so it is worth checking on their own site before comparing two prices directly.
