About Kids Mail Clubs

Hello — I’m Chelsea. I started this site with my husband’s help, because we are hopeless enthusiasts for children’s mail clubs and wanted one place where all of them could actually be found.

Almost everything made for children now arrives on a screen. Mail is the opposite of that. It comes once a month, it belongs to them, and it does not autoplay into the next thing — they can hold it, open it, get it out again a week later. As a mother of two I have watched what that does in my own house. An envelope with a child’s name on the front holds their attention in a way very little else does at that age, and the things it asks of them — looking, listening, cutting, sticking, writing back — are the things that actually build a small brain.

There are far more of these clubs than most people realize: a fairy who writes back, a snail with a sticker habit, a dog with opinions, a year-long story that arrives in pieces, trucks, nature, faith, art, music. Nearly all of them are made by one or two people, which is what makes them lovely and also what makes them almost impossible to find. So this is the list — all of them, in one place, free to browse and free to be listed on. If you find the club your child falls for and it isn’t ours, that is a good day as far as we are concerned.

Mailbox Melodies is mine — a monthly music club for young children. It is on this site and you will see it around, the home page included, and I would rather say plainly why than have you wonder.

It is there because it is ours and we stand behind it, and for no other reason. No club can pay to be listed, pay to be featured or pay to rank higher — not other clubs, and not us. Giving that spot to our own club instead of selling it is how the directory stays free for everybody else on it. Where another club beats ours on something — cheaper, works younger, writes back — the guides say so, because a list that never points away from itself is not worth reading. How a club gets on the list

Every listing is hand-checked by a person. Price, ages, where it ships and what actually turns up in the envelope, read off the club’s own website and dated so you can see how fresh it is.

If you run a club, claim your listing and correct anything we got wrong, or add your club if it is not here yet. One of us reads every submission. At this size that is a feature.
