Mail club gifts under $10 a month

Under ten dollars a month is where most of the letter-writing clubs sit, and it is a more interesting price band than it looks. What drops out below this line is rarely quality — it is bulk. The cheaper clubs tend to send a letter, a sticker and something small rather than a boxed set of components, and for a lot of children that is the better object anyway: less to lose, more to actually read.

How we worked out the price

Clubs on this site bill in different rhythms. Some charge monthly, some quarterly, a couple yearly, and two in pounds. The figure this page filters on is the normalised monthly cost in US dollars, so a club charging $47.50 for a year sits here at just under four dollars a month. The table shows what the club actually charges alongside it — you will not be billed the monthly figure unless the club bills monthly.

That also means an annual club in this band asks for the whole year up front. Cheap per month is not the same as cheap to buy, and for a gift the up-front number is usually the one that matters.

What to check at this price

Two things. Postage: some of these prices include it and some do not, and on a six-dollar club the postage is a material share of the cost. And frequency — a club at this price sending twice a month is a different proposition to one sending monthly, and both appear below.
