Where they differ

Both are letters, travel, activities and stickers clubs. Wandering Woods Adventure Mail Club also covers nature; The Adventure Letters stays narrower.

Wandering Woods Adventure Mail Club is the cheaper of the two — $11/mo against $12.99/mo, roughly 15% less on a monthly basis. Whether that gap means anything depends on what turns up: the dearer club is not automatically sending more, and on a gift the up-front total matters more than the monthly figure.

They arrive on different rhythms. The Adventure Letters comes twice a month; Wandering Woods Adventure Mail Club comes monthly. More frequent post is not automatically better — it is more to keep up with, and for some children the wait is part of it.

The age ranges differ too: The Adventure Letters is pitched at ages 8–13, Wandering Woods Adventure Mail Club at ages 5–10. Match the reading level rather than the birthday — a child who cannot yet read the letter alone needs an adult in the loop either way.

The Adventure Letters addresses the post to the child by name; Wandering Woods Adventure Mail Club does not. That sounds minor and it is the detail people mention most often — the envelope being visibly theirs is most of the appeal for a younger child.

What each one sends

The Adventure Letters

Two letters a month, mailed the second and fourth Friday, telling a continuing story about US geography and travel. Each envelope includes stickers, scrapbook pages, conversation cards and the occasional small gift. US shipping is free; there is no international option.

Wandering Woods Adventure Mail Club

A monthly letter of true travel stories from a real traveling family, with photographs, hand-drawn illustrations, stickers, activities and small mementos. Contents vary month to month. Mailed on the 1st; signup closes on the 15th of the prior month.

Which one to pick

We are not going to pretend there is a winner here — they are close enough to be on the same shortlist, which is why this page exists. What we would say is that the choice usually turns on the household rather than the club: how much adult time there is, whether the child reads independently yet, and whether you want post that asks something of them or post that simply arrives.

Read the full listings before deciding, and follow through to each club's own site — prices, terms and gift options are theirs to change and ours only to record.
