Both are letters, activities and stickers clubs. Past that they pull apart: The Adventure Letters also covers travel, while The Little Post adds postcards.

The Adventure Letters is the cheaper of the two — $12.99/mo against $14/mo, roughly 7% less on a monthly basis. Whether that gap means anything depends on what turns up: the dearer club is not automatically sending more, and on a gift the up-front total matters more than the monthly figure.

They arrive on different rhythms. The Adventure Letters comes twice a month; The Little Post comes monthly. More frequent post is not automatically better — it is more to keep up with, and for some children the wait is part of it.

The Little Post expects a reply — there is something to write back to. The Adventure Letters is one-way. A write-back club is the better one if an adult will actually sit down and help; if not, it turns into a pile of unanswered post.

The Adventure Letters

Two letters a month, mailed the second and fourth Friday, telling a continuing story about US geography and travel. Each envelope includes stickers, scrapbook pages, conversation cards and the occasional small gift. US shipping is free; there is no international option.

The Little Post

Two printed 5x7 postcards a month with the US postage already on them, sent so the child has something to send rather than only something to open. With them come a joke card, a mad libs story, a prompt suggesting who to write to and why, a letter and a small extra tied to the month's theme. Packages print and mail on the 1st; sign up by the 28th to catch the next one.

Which one to pick

We are not going to pretend there is a winner here — they are close enough to be on the same shortlist, which is why this page exists. What we would say is that the choice usually turns on the household rather than the club: how much adult time there is, whether the child reads independently yet, and whether you want post that asks something of them or post that simply arrives.
